DR. ABBAS TAHERI was born in Iran in 1951. He studied medicine and received his neurosurgical training at the University of Tehran from 1969 to 1982. He started his research on the clinical consequences of cerebral bleedings as assistant professor of neurosurgery in University of Berlin from 1985 to 1988. From 1994 to 2009, as social medical adviser, he examined patients with handicaps due to brain damage for the Health Institute of State of Berlin, and the Medico-Legal Department of Insurances in Berlin and Brandenburg. During this period, he gathered abundant experiences with developmental, traumatic, neurological and neurosurgical etiologies of language disorders.

This book presents the results of his inquiry in these fields, and in general theoretical aspects of linguistics, with some surprising proposals that may help uncover the mystery of language.
